One food drive location you may find many members of Beta Phi Pi fraternity is the Chicago Greater Food Depository.

Beta Phi Pi is in partnership with this organization because the growing problem of hunger is prevalent in America.  Most charity organizations lack resources to provide special diet foods to provide appropriate needs for everyone.  For example, cultural based meals, low sodium for health risk patients, etc.

According to the Center for American Progress, "Hunger in America report" calculated that students were being held a grade back or more because of hunger.  This resulted in school absenteeism and dropouts that led to a loss of apprximately $13 billion in lost income between 2009 and 2010.

This is why Beta Phi Pi believes in serving the public in a variety of ways through food drives. They do this not only for economic growth, but to provide a better quality of life to those less fortunate than ourselves.
